Schlüger Celebrates Remarkable Progress Towards "Vision 2025" Goals Set in 1980

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PALO ALTO, CA, August 29, 2024 - Schlüger, the pioneering force in synergistic business solutions, is proud to announce significant strides towards achieving its ambitious "Vision 2025" goals, originally set forth in 1980. As we approach the culmination of this 45-year journey, Schlüger reflects on its transformative impact on the business landscape and its unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and employee welfare.

"When we embarked on this visionary path in 1980, many said our goals were too ambitious, perhaps even impossible," said Peter Uberholf, CEO of Schlüger. "Today, I'm thrilled to report that we're not just meeting our targets—we're redefining the very concept of corporate achievement."

Key accomplishments towards Vision 2025 include:

  1. Paperless Office Initiative: Schlüger has successfully reduced paper usage by an impressive 15% since 1980, far exceeding the original goal of 5%. This monumental achievement was realized through groundbreaking strategies such as printing on both sides of the paper and the revolutionary "Think Before You Print" email signature campaign.
  2. Diversity and Inclusion: Schlüger proudly reports that women now comprise 32% of its workforce, up from 31% in 1980, surpassing the original goal of 31.5%. The company also celebrates having employees from a record 12 different countries, including Canada.
  3. Environmental Sustainability: Through innovative measures like implementing a "Lights Off When You Leave" policy and replacing plastic stirrers with wooden ones in the break room, Schlüger has reduced its carbon footprint by an estimated 3.7%, eclipsing the original 2% target.
  4. Technological Advancement: Schlüger has successfully transitioned 98% of its computers from Windows 95 to Windows XP, far exceeding the goal of 75% set in 1980. The company is also proud to announce that 65% of employees now have access to email, surpassing the original target of 50%.
  5. Employee Wellness: The implementation of "Wellness Wednesdays," featuring a monthly fresh fruit basket in the office lobby, has contributed to a 0.5% reduction in sick days, doubling the original goal of 0.25%.
  6. Global Expansion: Schlüger has established a presence in three new countries since 1980, including a sales kiosk in Toronto's Pearson International Airport, exceeding the original goal of expanding to at least one new country.
  7. Customer Satisfaction: Through rigorous training programs and the implementation of a state-of-the-art voicemail system, Schlüger has improved its customer satisfaction rating from "Poor" to "Adequate" on independent surveys, meeting its Vision 2025 target.
  8. Innovation: Schlüger has filed for an impressive 17 new patents since 1980, including one for a "Method of Stapling Papers in a Slightly Offset Manner for Aesthetic Appeal," surpassing the original goal of 15 patents.

"These achievements are a testament to Schlüger's relentless pursuit of excellence and our ability to adapt to the ever-changing business landscape," Uberholf added. "We've not only met the challenges set forth 45 years ago but have positioned ourselves as industry leaders in incremental progress."

To celebrate these milestones, Schlüger is hosting a company-wide pizza party, with up to two slices per employee (vegetables toppings only, to align with our wellness initiatives).

Looking ahead, Schlüger is already laying the groundwork for its next long-term strategic plan, "Vision 2070," which promises to push the boundaries of corporate ambition even further.
